Harmony @ Home

Ashutosh Wad and Manjunath Hathwar of Space Dynamix, Mumbai have to their repute designed several classy and beautiful interiors. They continue to do so being truthful to the needs to varied customers and etching out distinct and functional spaces to suit the different owners. The home owners wanted an apartment with neutral hues and textures with dash of colour through elements such as furniture artefacts and lights. They wanted shades different from the typical beige cream, white and brown. The designers hence consciously selected a colour theme involving light grey, white and coffee hues. The focus was to make the space as free flowing as possible the limited area and long list of requirement notwithstanding.

In this home a need was conveyed by the homeowners to create an identity with the use of stylish accessories, artefacts, furniture and lights.

While this may seem simple enough , the job of the designer is to blend the artefacts, accessories and furniture into an overall theme that goes with the space. All the pieces have to be placed and juxtaposed to create a unity and rhythm.

The spacious living room creates harmony between modern and contemporary elements. The main feature wall her is clad in brow Armani marble with LED strip lights forming a random intersecting pattern. The interesting composition of metallic handing lights forms the key feature in the dining arrangement while a bright red chair adds dash of colour to the otherwise neutral colour theme of the living room.

The dining area is made such that it encourages interaction and intermingling. A place to bond with family. The dining table base is an interesting fusion of left over materials used in the apartment else where. The stone effect wallpaper on the dining wall is in complete contrast to the polished marble cladding on the opposite wall and the kitchen dado has bright red glass that echoes the vibrancy of the red chair in the living room.

Interplay of elements in the master bedroom reflect the aesthetic sense of those who live there The wall has an interesting pattern in white poly coating with protruding veneer panels with LED accent lights. The entire lighting of the apartment is an interesting mix of direct and indirect lights along with accent lighting for almost all spaces

The children’s room is peppy and fun. Color choices and furniture shapes have been collated to match the very definition of children’s room.A happy place which breaks from the overall home look. While the vinyl installation on the wall highlights the interest in cars of the occupants of this room. “the yellow-grey striped wallpaper on the opposite wall further complements the colours of the installation. The ceiling of the children’s room has a random pattern with colour changing LED lighting covers to create drama, “ says Ashutosh.
